Retreats/Conferences

Youth @ St. Anselm offers a variety of retreats throughout the year. These events are for teens ready to take the next step in their faith and discover new ways of how God is moving in their lives. These retreats are challenging and prayerful and often the highlight of our yearly calendar.

Christ Power

This is a week-long service retreat held in June in cooperation with several local parishes. Teens spend their days at several service sites throughout the city. The evenings are spent doing a variety of fun and spiritual activities. We also have daily mass, reconciliation and adoration throughout the retreat. In the end, this retreat draws teens to Jesus through the constant exposure to Christ’s love through the service we perform, our time in worship and the bonds we make with our community. Registration is in March and April and is open to teens in grades 9-12.

Steubenville Mid America

This is a weekend retreat full of energy and faith. 3,000 teens gather at Missouri State for a weekend of awesome music, incredible speakers and just lots of fun. Teens really respond to the challenging speakers and the amount of time we spend in worship. The combination allows teens to really hear what God is trying to say to them. This conference is open to teens in grades 8-12. Registration is in January and February.

Luke 18 Retreat

Each year in March or April we provide this special retreat for our 8th graders. This retreat is lead by high school students with the goal of showing our 8th graders how to live out their faith in their high school years. It is a weekend of fun, prayer and discovering who we are in our Catholic faith. This retreat is open for high school helpers in grades 9-12 and also to the 8th graders to attend. 8th grade registration is in February and March, high school helpers are needed usually in January.

Winter Retreat

Some times you just need to get away. To take a step away from all the business in the world and allow God to speak to you. Each winter we go on retreat just as a St. Anselm group for a weekend of faith, fun, fellowship and worship. The retreat is usually in early January with registration in December. This is open to teens in grades 9-12.

Generation Life

This is a Diocesan event that takes teens from all over the Archdiocese to the Pro-Life March in Washington DC. This trip focuses on all the teachings of the Church on how to support life, and what the youth of the Church can do to help. It also has lots of great music and a day of site-seeing. This retreat is open to teens grades 8-12. The March for Life is usually mid-January. Registration is due in October.
