Altar Servers

Altar Servers

We welcome the participation of adults who would like to assist as altar servers.

Boys and girls that have received the Sacrament of Holy Communion are welcome to join our parish ministry! We are looking for anyone in 3rd grade and older who are willing to assist the priest and deacon at our Church and Worship Space Masses. We offer five Masses each weekend, special liturgies, occasional weddings, and funerals. The Church Mass times are Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The Worship Space Masses are located in the Parish Center on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. (Family Mass) and 5:30 p.m. We offer a training session for those who want to participate. This is an excellent way for young people to participate more fully in the liturgy and serve the St. Anselm Parish Community.

Helpful Attributes: Youth, grades 3-12, are eligible to serve. Servers must have received First Holy Communion.

Time Commitment: Typically, servers commit to one Mass, one weekend a month on an ongoing basis. Servers should arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled Mass. Servers may be asked to also serve for special Masses such as Holy Days of Obligation, Holy Week, and substitute as needed.

Training Commitment: Training is provided before serving commences.

  • For those who wish to participate or would like more information please contact Marge Meiners at or 314.878.2120, ext. 17. The Altar Server Registration form is available on the Forms and Materials page.
